1971-1989: The beginnings and company foundation
Wolfgang Müller has been working with die-sinking EDM technology as a toolmaker since 1971. In 1981 he expanded his expertise to include wire erosion. Fascinated by the new machining processes, he founded ESM as a contract EDM company in 1989/1990.
1990s: Expansion and Growth
What started as one erosion machine grew into over 10 erosion systems in the following years, and the production area at the Kronberg site grew from 100 m² to over 350 m².
2001-2007: Generational change and new leadership
In 2001, Peter Müller joined the company after completing his training as a tool mechanic. In 2004, he passed the examination to become a master precision mechanic and was appointed managing director and partner in 2007.
2015-2017: Reorientation and modernization
With more customers and larger orders, a realignment was decided in 2015. In mid-2016, construction work began on the new company headquarters in Oberursel, which was moved into in April 2017. The internal processes were efficiently structured and organized on almost 600 m² of production and administration space.
Today and Future
With modern working conditions and doubled space capacity, ESM is able to respond flexibly to market requirements today and in the future. This enables the highest quality, precision and excellent service for all customers.
SHAPING FUTURE SUSTAINABLY
At esm we focus on sustainability - REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE. Our goal is to minimize CO2 emissions, conserve resources and recycle waste responsibly in order to preserve our planet for future generations. As an energy-intensive industry, we take this responsibility seriously and implement concrete measures that significantly reduce our environmental impact.
100% green electricity
Since 2013, we have been sourcing all of our electricity needs exclusively from green electricity, which means we avoid 80-100 tons of CO2 emissions annually. In addition, we installed a 65 KW / peak solar system on our roof in 2023, which will continue to cover our energy needs with clean energy.
recycling
Production-related waste products such as scrap metal, filter cartridges, resins and used oils are disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner and fed into the recycling cycle. Since mid-2018, we have consistently dispensed with single-use plastic bottles.
Efficient building technology
Our production site uses innovative technologies such as air heat pumps and concrete core activation for efficient heating and cooling systems. In winter, the air heat pump provides warmth and in summer, pleasant coolness. All lights in the building are energy-saving LED lights, which further reduce our energy consumption.
CO2-neutral delivery
With our 2 fully electric company vehicles we can reach our customers within a radius of 250 km in a climate-neutral manner
